Kyler's Birthday party theme

Kyler's 5Th birthday is coming up at the end of the month, and he has been discussing what type of party he would like to have to celebrate. We have talked about spider man, Iron Man, and an all Super Hero's party, because he didn't want to leave one of them out and hurt there feelings. He has been having a hard time trying to decided, but today after church was his best choice yet. We were in the car driving home and he said " Mom I really want to have a Jesus party." I was a little bit confused at that and asked him how do you have a Jesus party? He said well you give pictures of him and treats he would like in the party bags! I sat there quietly for a minute, and he said " Mom...Do you think that would make him happy If I had a party about him? My heart melted...What a sweet thought that it was for him to so sincerely want to have a party that represented our Savior Jesus Christ. It made me think about how as adults we lose those simple and sweet desires and intentions of a child that keeps them so close to our Savior. I know without a doubt in my mind that my children were placed on this earth to teach me and help me return home to our Savior instead of me teaching them. I am in awe on a regular basis what a wonderful gift our children are from our Loving Heavenly Father.
